The Tampere Stadium (Ratina)

  • Built in 1966, at the same place some football matches were played at the Olympic Games in 1952
  • competition sites novotan, renovated in 1996, to be surface-renovated in 2003
  • 8 lane syntethic track
  • 2 High Jump sites
  • 1 Pole Vault site
  • 1 Long/Triple Jump sites at the home straight (inside the lanes) for the finals + 2 long/Triple Jump sites at the training field: to be built; used at the qualifications, Decathlon and Heptathlon, 2 jumping directions
  • 2 Shot Put circles
  • 1 Discus/Hammer circle
  • 1 Javelin site
  • 100 seats for the media
  • all the EJCH 2003 -offices in the same building under the main tribune

WARM-UP/TRAINING SITES:

The Tampere Stadium:

  • running/Walking: 100 m synthetic straight just outside the Stadium western end, very good and safety park paths and roads next to the Stadium
  • Jumps: 2 Long/Triple sites outside the Stadium when not used for competition
  • Throws (not Hammer): Eteläpuisto-area south next (200 m) to the Stadium
  • 20 - 25 cabins for the teams just outside the Stadium, western end with 1 massage tables in each

The Sportsfield of Pyynikki:

  • 1 km north-west from the stadium
  • 350 m synthetic lanes (6), infield syntethic grass

The Sportsfield of Hervanta:

  • 1 km west from the Police Academy
  • 400 m syntethic lanes 6/8 at the homes straight, 1 long/Triple Jump site, 1 High Jump site, 1 Pole Vault site, 1 shot circle, 1 Discus circle, 1 Javelin site

The Police Academy

  • 1 Hammer circle 100 m from the Academy, to be built in 2003
